Day 1: Arrive Nairobi
On arrival at Nairobi International Airport today you will be met by African Paradise Safaris. And be transferred to Giraffe Manor for check in. Relax and you will be transferred to carnivore restaurant for the game meat for dinner. Accommodation: Giraffe Manor - HB
Day 2: Nairobi – Laikipia – Solio Ranch
After breakfast you will visit the AFEW Giraffe Centre and then be transferred to Nairobi Wilson Airport for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Nyanyuki. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Solio ranch for lunch at solio lodge. After lunch have an afternoon game drive.
Solio Lodge is located in Solio Ranch which is nestled between Mt Kenya and the Aberdare Mountain Range. By road Solio Lodge is a three hour drive from Nairobi on the Nyeri – Nyaharuru Road. By air, daily scheduled flights from Nairobi fly into Nanyuki Airstrip. From there a twenty minute transfer to the lodge by private charter takes you to Solio Private Airfield. Day 3: Laikipia – Solio Ranch
This morning after breakfast you will have morning game drive in an open sided landcruiser.return to the lodge for lunch, after which you will embark for an afternoon game viewing.
The ‘Solio Ranch’ is one of the finest wildlife parks in Africa, which hasn´t figured on the tourist map for generations.
The park is a fenced, privately-owned wildlife conservancy geared towards rhino conservation. The Solio Game Reserve was founded in 1970 when the owner of the Solio cattle ranch fenced off a large section of land and dedicated it to conservation. The park plays a major part in the protection and breeding of black rhinos in Kenya. Breeding has been so successful that rhino from Solio have stocked game reserves all over Africa. Day 4: Laikipia – Solio Ranch
After breakfast this morning learn how to identify and understand the behavior of the animals and insects from our experienced guides by enjoy a rewarding, peaceful Solio Lodge walk on the ranch and find yourself in the company of dik dik, waterbuck, impala, warthogs and an abundance of birdlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. This afternoon enjoy horseback ride and breathtaking scenery of the landscape whilst getting a close view of the wildlife and a vast array of exquisite birdlife in the vicinity. Day 5: Solio Ranch – Maasai Mara National Reserve
This morning after breakfast you will drive to the Airstrip for your flight to Maasai mara. Upon arrive in the airstrip your guide will pick and transfer you to the governor camp for lunch. In the afternoon have a game viewing drive.
An exploratory drive around the 1,792 sq. km game park with its low hills and savannah type rolling grasslands, gallery forest on the Mara River and its tributaries. Get introduced to the herbivores; elephant, rhino, buffalo, and the variety of antelopes, the Masai giraffe and the Burchell zebra. The carnivores are the black mane lion, cheetah and leopard. Also to be seen are the largest bird, the Masai ostrich, the Secretary bird, the crested crane and saddle-bill stork. Crocodiles and hippos share the river. Day 6 & 7: Maasai Mara National Reserve
Two full days in the park, with early Morning optional balloon safari ride (US$450.00 per person ) across the Maasai Mara plain. Breakfast at the lodge then enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Masai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here; The Mara is noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black maned males. See the great Migraton where over 1.5 million wildebeest and other antelopes crossing the mighty Mara River. Experience the battle between survival and hunger. You are also likely to see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you're lucky leopard, cheetah and rhino. All of the Big Five are residents. You're sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, stock up on film/tapes and enjoy yourselves! In the evening visit maasai village. Meals and overnight at Governor camp - Fullboard.
Day 8: Maasai Mara National Reserve – Depart home.
After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Wilson Airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for your home flight. Ending exclusive luxury safari holiday in Kenya.
